Readings from 14th September - 18th September.

What I have read over these days were;

I was introduced to Jessica Watson. She shared her secret that she was afraid of the water when she was younger. She had participated in sailing lessons at the age of 8 at the local beach. Her parents bought a motorboat. They lived in a motorboat for many years as they were making of producing a bus to travel around Australia in. It was a family dream. They soon had the bus up and running. They didn't go as far as they wanted, but they tried their best. Jessica had dyslexia which is when a person has trouble with pronouncing words which affects the spelling of the words. They did go to a on land school but after they moved into the motorboat her mum started to teach the 4 children. Emily (Jess' older sister), Tom (Jess' brother who is younger than her) and Hannah (Jess' youngest sibling). Even though Jess had dyslexia she became to love reading. Her favourite book when she was yound was Jesse Martin's LionHeart. She then got into Kay Cottee's First Lady.
Moving onto her dream trip. Jessica had planned since she was 12 to go on a trip around the world solo. She had alot of support from a special person Don McIntyre she was her biggest help. He stood up for her when the public was against her and her family. He helped make her dream come true. Mike was another person who showed that her dream could be reality. He had trouble with sailing because he had a proposal to sail solo but it fell through. So he had showed Jessica that it was the right thing for her to go and succeed in her dream.

Now I shall be off to do more reading (: Laters Bloggers (:

  1. Laura,

    I'm glad you are enjoying this book. I liked your thoughts about why you chose this particular novel. Try to write using a clearer expression of your ideas so that your audience gets more out of your blog.
